I research contemporary art and design, with emphases in textile and garment histories and the intersections of art, design, and social justice. I also serve as an Assistant Professor in Visual and Critical Studies in the Department of Art and Design and as affiliated faculty in the Gender, Sexuality and Women’s Studies at Montclair State University.

I am a standing member of the College Art Association’s Executive Board of Directors and was formerly the Editor-in-Chief of CAA’s Art Journal Open (2020-2023).

Prior to joining the faculty at Montclair State University, I worked as an Assistant Professor and Department Chair at the San Francisco Art Institute’s History and Theory of Contemporary Art Department (2013-2018), and was a Resident Scholar in the Department of Gender and Women’s Studies’ Beatrice Bain Research Group at the University of California, Berkeley (2017-2018).
